Sterling Transfers works with carefully selected transport partners. Here's what we look for — and how your booking stays with us throughout.
Choosing who we work with
Some journeys are fulfilled by independent transport operators rather than by Sterling Transfers directly. We don't work with just anyone.
Before working with a transport partner, we aim to ensure that the appropriate licensing, insurance and documentation requirements are met.
Partners are separate businesses and their drivers are not employed by Sterling Transfers. You still book with us, pay us and deal with us — we coordinate with the partner on your behalf.
What we look for
Where applicable, we look for appropriate:
- Driver licensing
- Drivers should hold the appropriate private-hire or hackney carriage licence from their licensing authority.
- Vehicle licensing
- Vehicles should be appropriately licensed for private-hire or hackney carriage use.
- Insurance
- Operators should hold insurance appropriate for carrying passengers for hire and reward.
- Vehicle suitability
- The vehicle should suit the journey — the number of passengers, the luggage and any particular needs.
- Relevant experience
- We look for partners with experience of pre-booked work, including airport and long-distance journeys.
- Professional standards
- Punctuality, presentation and conduct that reflect well on the booking you've made with us.
- Customer-service expectations
- Partners are expected to treat passengers courteously and to keep us informed if anything changes.
Requirements differ between licensing authorities and types of journey. If you have a specific question about who will carry out your journey, just ask us before you book.
